Importing lane history data

Pathfinder uses your lane history data to suggest carriers for each new truckload shipment. It builds up your history the more you use it, but you can accelerate the process by importing history from your TMS.

If you use Quote Factory TMS or another integrated TMS, your data is automatically imported and kept up to date, so you can skip this process.

To import your data, send us a file with these columns:

  • Shipment number
  • Pickup date
  • Origin city
  • Origin state
  • Origin zip
  • Destination city
  • Destination state
  • Destination zip
  • Carrier MC number
  • Carrier USDOT number
  • Equipment type
  • Carrier name (optional)
  • Carrier contact email (optional)
  • Carrier contact name (optional)
  • Carrier cost (optional)
  • Full/partial (optional)

  • They can be in any order and format, and the column headers don't have to match. We use AI to import your data, so it can figure out the details.
  • For origin and destination, we don't need city, state and zip. We just need either city/state or zip.
  • We need either the MC number or the USDOT number, not both.
  • For equipment type, just send your existing codes. We'll handle the mapping to ours.
  • Carrier name isn't necessary, but helps us investigate if we don't recognize the MC/USDOT number.
  • Carrier contact email and phone lets us preload those contact methods so you don't have to enter them the first time you contact the carrier in Pathfinder. (We always pull in the email and phone from SAFER too.)
  • Carrier cost is helpful for showing cost history in the lane, but it isn't necessary to suggest a carrier.

📬 Send your data file to support@quotefactory.com and we'll take it from there.

Updated data

You can send updated data as often as you want. Many brokers set up an automated report in their TMS to send us their data each week.

🔒 Confidentiality

Of course, we keep your data completely confidential and for your benefit only. If you'd like to put a mutual nondisclosure agreement in place before sharing your data, just ask.
