MacroPoint
If you use MacroPoint for truckload tracking, you can connect your Quote Factory account to your MacroPoint account. Then we'll handle creating MacroPoint orders, and we'll pull tracking updates onto your shipment details pages. We'll even put a blue dot on the map to show the last location of the truck.
Start time
When you create a MacroPoint order, we set the tracking start time to be four hours before the start of the pickup window (or appointment).
Duration
When you create a MacroPoint order, we set the tracking duration to 10 days (their maximum). MacroPoint will automatically stop the tracking as soon as the shipment is delivered, so this extended window is just in case there's a delay.
Frequency
When you create a MacroPoint order, we set the tracking frequency to be every 15 minutes. Events (like arrival and departure) will come through to the shipment details page almost instantly, but the dot on the map will only change once every 15 minutes.
Geofence size
MacroPoint says that their default geofence size is 1 mile for arrival and 5 miles for departure. They can go as small as 0.1 miles and as big as 20 miles. To have MacroPoint update the sizes for your account, email servicedesk@descartes.com.
